Background First and foremost, I consider myself a trial attorney. I am at home in the courtroom. I was born and raised in the State of Louisiana. I went to LSU undergraduate and majored in Journalism. I attended Loyola School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana and obtained my law degree in 1986. I was a prosecutor in New Orleans for several years until I decided to move to California in 1989. Being a prosecutor helped me see the imbalance in the judicial system. When I became a criminal defense attorney, I decided to work to try to make the judicial system more balanced so that it is a system that works for all people, not just a few. I represent clients with a view towards humanizing the client (making the DA and the court recognize that the client is a person, not a piece of paper) and getting the best result possible for the client. When that means going to trial, I take the case to trial. |
